Final Post

This is going to be my final post as I am nearly done with the Public Relations class that I had started this assignment for. Overall this was a very enjoyable experience, and I feel that what I learned from this blog will stay with and help me in my future career. Also it gave me a chance to talk about my passion, football, and my team, the Titans. 

Titans Move to 11-1

First off let me start by wishing everyone that follows my blog a happy Thanksgiving. Now onto the topic of my blog... the Tennessee Titans. Today the Titans try to redeem themselves as they travel to Detroit to play the Lions who have yet to win a game. If you caught this game, it was anything but a challenge for the Titans. Coming off their lose the Titans worked hard to get themselves back to their style of game play that pushed them to their 10-0 record. This means their running game was the main attacking force, and luckily for them Detroit doesn't have much of a run defense. Chris Johnson and LenDale White shared carries providing the Titans with over 300 yards and each rushing for two touchdowns. The finial score of the game was 47-10 and pushed the Titans to a record of 11-1 putting them at the top of the AFC. 

TItans lose their first game of the season

Last week the Titans faced off against the New York Jets. The Jets have greatly improved this season with the addition of quarterback Brett Favre. However the Titans, who were undefeated going into this week, were still projected to beat the Jets with their stunning defense. This prediction quickly faded at the start of the game. It hurts to say it, but the Jets dominated the Titans in this game as they handed the Titans their first loss with a score of 34-13. Brett Favre threw for 224 yards and dominated the pace of play pretty much beating the Titans on his own. 

Not all is lost for the Titans though. They are still leading their division with an impressive record of 10-1 and lead the AFC division. On Thanksgiving they will face off against the worst team in the NFL, the Detroit Lions who have a record of 0-11.

Titans move to 9-0 / Bob Dylan

Sorry that I haven't written in this blog for a while. To be honest covering the best football teams weekly games has grown to bore me since they never seem to lose. Last week they took on the Chicago Bears who put a stop to Tennessee's amazing run game, but couldn't stop quarter back Kerry Collins. The Titans pulled out the victory and head into week 11 today against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This game will be played later today, but I want to change the subject of my blog for this post and then I will cover the Jacksonville game later today.

As I have mentioned in my profile, I am a huge fan of music. It is my passion and what I spend the majority of my time doing. I want to give people more of a chance to comment on my blog and I feel that sports might be a little hard for some people to respond to. So I am going to use my blog today to talk about one of my favorite cds ever made.

The CD is Bob Dylans six studio album and his first to be recorded with a full band. The album was recorded in 1965 and Bob Dylan is quoted calling this his favorite album.

Like A Rolling Stone: This is a great song and probably one of the his most famous songs. It has been covered by many bands such as Jimi Hendrix and Dave Matthews. However, I tend to enjoy other songs on the album more than this one.

Titans go 7 - 0

Last night the Titans had the most fierce and hyped game they have had in years. The Titans were the only undefeated team left in the NFL and if they won they would have a two game lead in the AFC. So needless to say the pressure was on. Also it seems that many people feel that the Titans are overrated because they had somewhat of weak schedule so far so when playing a team such as the Colts they felt they had something to prove.

In the start of the game, the Titans took control and immediately put up three points with a field goal. Followed by this Hope, one of the Titans star defensive players, intercepted a pass by the Colts quarterback. However from here the game took a drastic turn. The Colts stepped up their game and lead fourteen to six going into the half. After returning to the field the Titans proved once again why they are still undefeated. Their defense and offense stepped up and began to crush the Colts. By the start of the third quarter the game was already out of hand and the Titans ended up taking home the victory with a 31 - 21 victory.

Week 7 Fun

Its week 7, and the Titans are the only undefeated team left in the NFL. This week they traveled to Kansas City to play the Chiefs. This week however, I got to go to the game and see them destroy the Chiefs. On Saturday, October 18th my fraternity brother Tom and I traveled to Kansas City to watch the game. Upon arriving in Kansas we immediately drove to the most amazing disc golf course that either of us had ever played. After that we were pretty worn out and just took it easy the rest of the night and prepared for the game the next day. On game-day, Sunday, Tom and I woke up at 7 a.m. packed our cooler, grabbed the grill, and headed to start tailgating. After tailgating for several hours we finally entered the stadium to witness Tennessee massacre Kansas City. 

Kansas City was in trouble from the begging, having one of the worst offenses in the league, the Titans defense easily shut down the Chiefs and hurt their starting quarterback. The game was about as one sided as you can get. Because the Chiefs have a horrible run defense the Titans spent most of their time running the ball getting around 8 yards per play. The Titans won the game 34- 10 and are halfway to a perfect season. 

Week 6 = No Titans

Its week 6 for the NFL. The Titans remain the only undefeated team for the first time in a long time. However, they will not make an appearance this week to improve their record to 6 and 0. Instead this week is Tennessee's bye week, and the team is taking full advantage of their week off. According to www.titansonline.com coach Jeff Fisher is taking it easy on the team and gave them the weekend off to heal up and mentally prepare for next weeks game against the Kansas City Cheifs. However, the Titans should be confident in the upcoming game because Kansas City is one of the leagues worst team, if not the worst.

As a Titans fan I am eager to see how the bye week effects quaterback Vince Young. It was rumored last week that Young would start against the Baltimore Ravens, but he ended up once again sitting the bench. Because of Kerry Collins success on the field there really hasnt been much reporting on Youngs status, and it is believed that he will probably return as soon as Collins starts to faulter.
